Himi City in Toyama Prefecture offers a beautiful view of the majestic Tateyama Mountain Range over Toyama Bay. The shopping district in the city center is filled with characters created by Fujiko FujioⒶ, a manga artist from the city, and Kozenji Temple, which has a nearly 700-year history and is famous as the birthplace of Fujiko FujioⒶ. “Himi City Shiokaze Gallery”, which exhibits many of Fujiko’s works, is also a must-see. Various kinds of fish are landed throughout the year, especially yellowtail in the winter season, known as “Himi Kanburi,” which is famous throughout Japan.

A gallery where visitors can enjoy the world of Fujiko FujioⒶ, a manga artist from Himi City. Parents and children can enjoy a wide variety of contents such as original and facsimile drawings of “The Monster Kid” and “Ninja Hattori-kun,” commentary on works depicting Himi, a digital manga screen, and the Miracle Manga Art Corner. Character goods exclusive to Himi City are also available for purchase.
